When I started playing eve, solo PVP was very exciting because when you blew someone up and looted the wreck, chances were you could make a lot of money from that interceptor's 1mn MWD II, because many T2 items sold for tens of millions. I miss the sense of excitement when opening a wreck, because almost all T2 items are very cheap these days.
I'm not saying that we should go back to the way it was with t2 cartels, but some way of getting that excitement back, that when you blow someone up you might find something valuable, would be great for Eve.
As an extension to the above, I would also like to see faction ships get a huge boost and become more common, so that they would actually become useful and that we might see them in actual PVP. Sure, there are some faction ships that are great, but the majority of them aren't. Look at the Cynabal as an example - very unspectacular and it doesn't stand a chance against many standard cruisers. It's exciting to see special ships, but since there are better options that are buildable on the market, you hardly ever see them. There are so many options here.
I think the solution is to make a faction ships and modules "the new t2", limited by CCP so that they don't become as common as T2 is today due to invention, but still common enough that people might actually use them on their PVP ships, if they have a lot of money.
I also don't understand why all items can't be sold on the market. It would be better if all faction items could be sold as any other item, and actually show up in the market list when you browse a market group. They wouldn't have to show up when you uncheck "Show only available items" if you're afraid it would take too much space, but if they are available it would be so much easier to actually find faction items and perhaps this would encourage their use in PVP.
Summary: Before invention, T2 was exciting and when blowing someone up and looting his wreck you could make a lot of money. This was great. Now, T2 is so cheap that looting wrecks have lost much of its appeal. Perhaps faction ships and items could be used to bring back this sense of accomplishment, or "named T2", or something. I also think that it was great before then Invention boom when named items you found on rats actually were worth anything. It was better when there was a more even spread of item prices - not like it is today when T1/named is sold for mineral costs (making named almost worthless) and T2 is extremely cheap, while the jump to faction is huge.
